Who it’s for

  • Parent & Tot (18–36 months): Water confidence through songs, safe holds and gentle submersion readiness.
  • Preschool (3–5 yrs): Float, kick, breathe—foundations for safe, happy swimmers.
  • Beginner (6–12 yrs): Water safety, body position, freestyle basics, backstroke intro.
  • Stroke School (7–13 yrs): Efficient freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke starts; intro to turns.
  • Teens (any age): Learn from scratch or rebuild technique—no judgement, just progress.

Class sizes: Max 4 for beginners; 6 for stroke school.

How our lessons run

30 minutes · Once per week (with optional catch‑ups in season). Every lesson has a clear focus: warm‑up, skill block, confidence/repeat, and a short game or challenge.

Season: Typically January–April and September to December at the Leloko pool. Winter intensives by announcement – pool sessions can be substituted for land training for older children.

Curriculum highlights

  • Water safety: entries/exits, assisted returns, mindful breath holds.
  • Float & glide: front/back star floats, streamlined push‑offs.
  • Kick & pull: kickboard work, catch & pull timing.
  • Breathing: bubbles, trickle exhale, side breathing (freestyle).
  • Strokes: freestyle & backstroke fundamentals; breaststroke timing; dolphin kick intro.
  • Skills: safe submersions, sculling, treading water, turns (stroke school).

What to bring

  • Costume, towel, and swim cap (included in registration pack)
  • Goggles (optional but helpful)
  • Long hair tied back; swim nappy for tots who need it
  • A labelled water bottle

Registration pack

Your once‑off registration includes a branded swim cap and a soft hooded towel—ready for pool days from lesson one.

Coach & safety

Lessons are led by experienced, Swimming‑SA‑aligned coaches who are patient, qualified, and kid‑friendly. We follow strict supervision and hygiene standards and adjust for weather and water quality.

Weather/Chemical policy: If the pool is unsafe (e.g., electrical storms, low temps, or post‑maintenance chemical shock), we’ll notify you early and arrange a catch‑up as per our T&Cs.
