DDP Yoga® — Stronger Joints. Smarter Cardio. Real Results.
What is DDP Yoga?
DDP Yoga blends yoga‑inspired mobility with body‑weight strength and dynamic resistance—engaging opposing muscles as you move to raise your heart rate and turn controlled motion into powerful, low‑impact cardio. It’s accessible for every level and highly modifiable, from athletes to absolute beginners.
How it works (the principles)
- Dynamic Resistance: Flex and engage as you move to elevate heart rate and build strength—no equipment needed.
- Zero‑Impact, Joint‑Friendly: No jumping. Movements are deliberate and supported to protect knees, hips, and spine.
- Breathe & Focus: Breath cues and time‑under‑tension keep you present and in control.
- Train by Heart‑Rate: Work in your personal target zone; back off briefly if you drift high, then re‑engage.
Heart‑rate training (made simple)
Find your personal ‘Fat‑Burning Zone’
A simple way used in DDPY guides: Top of range = 180 − your age. Then subtract ~20 beats for the bottom of your range. Example: age 40 → 120–140 bpm.
Disengage / Safety Zone
If you drift above your zone, slow down, make the movement smaller, or take a supported option until your heart rate settles—then rejoin. Smart training beats all‑out grinding.
What if I’m limited? We modify everything.
- Chair‑based options: Do a full session seated or use a sturdy foldable chair to help transitions.
- Yoga blocks: Bring the floor closer to keep a long spine, add support in balances, or create resistance by squeezing/pressing.
- Barefoot: Best grip, better foot activation, and improved balance; grippy socks if you prefer.
